Summary
This was my first shot as a true UI designer and my first steps into the agile development world. Our UX team consisted of 3 designers, each owning several portions of our soon to be built mortgage software. We had a small in-house dev team, a slightly larger dev team in India, and a lot of hard working mortgage experts all working together to create a mortgage app that would include every person involved in the purchase of a home. From the buyer to the mortgage agent to the home inspector we would securely handle the transfer of money and verify our users to reduce the chance of fraud.
On the design team we worked with the director to interpret the requirements. As designers we sketched, wireframed, mocked up, and debated our style guide. (I’m pretty sure we spent two days debating if our buttons should have 3px or a 5px radius). We would also help the marketing department to create material such as emails, the corporate website, and miscellaneous marketing materials.
